USB Cable - Straight for Flic or ROV Scanners Review

I purchased this product because I have the Movie Collectorz program and a new Dell Studio One computer. This computer only has USB ports and I really wanted to attach my Flic scanner (entering movies manually is a pain). I have tried just about everything and there is no reason that it should not work, so I can only assume that it is the cable.

This scanner did not come with a cable to connect it to the computer. It is useless until I can find a connector. This would have been nice to know before I purhcased this $300 scanner.

USB, Long Range CCD Barcode Scanner Review

The barcode scanner works as described. Easy to scan barcodes even a foot away. No need for installation- just plug and play. It can also be programmed for specific codes, but it's not usually needed. Out of a few scanner that I have owned this seems to be one of the best. It is built to last. It is worth getting the barcode holder --will prolong the scanners life for sure!

The nuscan 3000 is an excellent barcode scanner. It is comfortable to grip, lightweight, and it works like a charm without any other software using windows xp.Plug it in, and it scans immediately, printing the text directly into a program like MS Word.My problem with the product is that the Adesso web site and the vendor I bought it from both state it works in Mac OSX, and I bought it to use with a Mac.So far, no luck with OS X 10.4.7 or 10.4.8.The user manual suggests scanning a particular programmming barcode in the manual to insure it is configured for the appropriate host, but such a barcode doesn't exist in the user manual.The toll-free support line answers to an answering machine, and the tech support guys who answered my email replied "try it on windows, if it doesn't work, then its a faulty scanner.If it does work, then we'll have to see what else we can try."Hmmmmm.On a PC, I'd rate this a five stars.As a mac product, though, its a disappointment.

Pretec CF LASER Barcode Scanner for PDA/ Pocket PC & portable devices w/ CF slot Review

I've debated whether to give this product a 3 or 4 star rating.I'm not feeling generous, so I'll give it a 3.I take issue with this product not because of its capabilities (it compares favorably with similar products) but with its lack of manuals of any kind, a poorly burned demo CD that wouldn't read in either of my computer's optical drives, and a Web site that was less than helpful (no manuals).

After I managed to find the correct version of the driver for my Dell Axim 50v, I had to remember how to install a CAB file without having an installation program.Simple answer - copy it to the device, find it with the file explorer, and click on it.Not exactly intuitive for an install.

Then there was the fact that for a short while, my Axim was convinced this was a modem.After a few tries with the newly installed driver and keyboard emulator for the scanner, it was correctly recognized and now I can happily scan.Scans are quick, accurate, and have a great range.

The rating will plummet should I find any issues with reliability, but I have a feeling it will be fine.If you can wade through the installation, I'm fairly certain that this scanner will perform adequately.Just don't think it will be a walk in the park getting it up and running.You might even consider looking at another brand before purchasing this one.
